Terms of Use
Effective: October 29, 2026
This translation is provided for convenience; the Korean version prevails.
Article 1 (Purpose)
These Terms set out the conditions for using the website (koreacriminalattorney.com, the "Site") operated by Newlawyer Law Office (the "Office").
Article 2 (Nature of Information on the Site)
Articles, case examples, news, guides, self-diagnosis results and chatbot guidance on the Site are general legal information and not legal advice on any specific matter. Facts and applicable laws differ from case to case, so please consult a lawyer for a specific assessment. The outcomes of cases described on the Site depend on the circumstances of each case and do not guarantee the same result.
Article 3 (Formation of an Attorney-Client Relationship)
Requesting a consultation, submitting an intake form or sending an email inquiry through the Site does not by itself create an attorney-client relationship. The relationship is formed when you sign a written engagement agreement with the Office and pay the agreed fee. Before an engagement agreement is signed, the Office takes no action toward the other party, investigators or the courts.
Article 4 (Notes When Requesting a Consultation)
Before an engagement agreement is signed, the Office has not yet checked for conflicts of interest, so we recommend that you do not include information beyond what is needed to assess your matter. Submitted information is handled in accordance with the Privacy Policy, and lawyers are bound by a statutory duty of confidentiality. The Office may decline a consultation or engagement for reasons such as a conflict of interest.
Article 5 (Fees)
Fees posted on the Site are reference amounts. The actual fee is set in the engagement agreement according to the nature of the matter and the scope of work.
Article 6 (Duties of Users)
Users must not use another person's information, submit false information, or interfere with the operation of the Site (for example, through automated bulk requests).
Article 7 (Copyright)
Copyright in the content of the Site belongs to the Office or the rightful owners. Non-commercial quotation with attribution is permitted; any other copying, distribution or modification requires prior consent.
Article 8 (External Links)
The content and personal-data practices of external sites linked from the Site are governed by the policies of those sites.
Article 9 (Limitation of Liability)
The Office strives to keep the information on the Site accurate, but it may not be up to date because of changes in the law or other reasons. Unless there is intent or gross negligence, the Office is not liable for losses a user suffers from decisions made without an attorney-client relationship and based solely on the general information on the Site. This does not apply where liability cannot be limited under applicable law.
Article 10 (Governing Law and Jurisdiction)
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. Disputes relating to use of the Site shall be brought before the court having jurisdiction under the Civil Procedure Act.
Article 11 (Amendments)
If these Terms are amended, notice will be posted on the Site from 7 days before the amendment takes effect.
Supplementary Provision
These Terms take effect on October 29, 2026.
